Mr. Spyridon Thermos is a research associate at the Visual Computing Lab (VCL) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) in Thessaloniki, and a Ph.D. candidate at the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of the University of Thessaly (UTH) located in Volos, Greece. He holds an Engineering Diploma and a Master in Science from the same department. His research interests lie in sensorimotor learning, object affordance understanding, 3D object recognition, 3D shape retrieval, and their application on VR/AR technologies. He has (co-) authored 9 scientific publications, including a spotlight paper in CVPR (2017), and 1 book chapter. He served as a reviewer for distinguished conferences, such as CVPR (2018), ACCV (2018), ICIP (2018, 2019), and is a tactical reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence journal. As a research associate, he has been involved in 4 EU H2020 projects. He is a student member of IEEE community.
